Molina de Segura City Council hires 12 young people to the Municipal Forest Brigade through the Public Employment Program (09/05/2017)

The Municipality of Molina de Segura has hired 12 young people for the Municipal Forest Brigade project through the Public Employment Program of the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF), co-financed by the European Social Fund.

The Councilors for the Environment, Carbonell Capel Purification and Labor Insertion Policies, Andrés Martínez Cervantes, made a follow-up visit to the start of the project in Soto de Los Alamos, in the hamlet of El Llano de Molina, on Tuesday May 9.

The Local Public Employment Program is a program of the Regional Employment and Training Service aimed at improving and enhancing the employment capacity of unemployed workers through the subsidy of hiring unemployed workers for the execution of works and services of general and social interest during Six months in collaboration with Local Corporations.

The program also aims to respond to the promotion of activity in those sectors of the municipality where new unmet needs are detected.

The current Local Public Employment Program is regulated by the Order of November 14, 2016, of the Director of the SEF, which approves the regulatory bases for subsidies corresponding to the Local Public Employment Program and Non-profit Entities.

And, specifically, through the Resolution granting subsidies program "Local Public Employment and non-profit entities, Local Public Employment subprogramme" corresponding to the 2016 call of 29 December 2016, granting subsidy to the City Council of Molina de Segura, file 201602-61GJ-0042, for the Forest Brigade project.

On March 29, 2017, the Forest Brigade project began, which will last 6 months and involves the recruitment of 12 young people between the ages of 20 and 29 (5 more than the project executed in 2016), according to the SEF , And that they fulfill the requirements of the national system of Youth Guarantee.

The total investment is 166,066.19 euros, of which 91,653.12 euros correspond to the subsidy of the SEF and the rest to the City of Molina de Segura (74,503.07 euros, of which 4,181.76 are for materials and the rest For staff), all co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF).

The City of Molina has made a great effort in the current Forest Brigade project, doubling almost the number of young people to hire, betting on employment: the project, which will end on September 29, 2017, has the recruitment of 12 unemployed young people And a municipal contribution that supposes almost 45% of the total cost;

While the previous year there were 7 people hired and the municipal contribution of just over 2%.

Molina de Segura is a municipality characterized by a varied configuration of its landscape, with a marked and attractive contrast between orchard areas irrigated by the Segura River, dryland areas with a mosaic of small rural populations, and forest and hill areas Of a certain ecological value.

In recent years there has been an urban growth of the locality, with the emergence of urbanizations that have made Molina de Segura a large, dynamic and young city, the fourth at a regional level.

Now we are in a time of expansion and development of the local territory, which must be linked to the conservation and protection of the natural spaces present in Molina de Segura, and the promotion of employment, objectives for which a knowledge and previous study of These spaces, and programs of conservation, maintenance and improvement of these spaces.

The management of the natural environment must be accompanied by environmental recovery projects, development and nature tourism programs, training activities, awareness and environmental education, initiatives for the public use of natural spaces, initiatives for youth employment in the area of Environment and channels for the participation of the citizens of Molina de Segura in the environmental policy.

The natural spaces in Molina de Segura are small and sensitive spaces, where basic climate-natural resource interactions (water, soil and vegetation-human being) often maintain a precarious balance.

This is due in part to the fact that ecosystems under semi-arid conditions are vulnerable and fragile to a large number of physical and human phenomena and impacts.

The recruitment of motivated young people and with adequate profiles related to forestry work and conservation of the natural environment, so that they acquire the necessary work experience with a view to a professional exit according to their training and market needs, is suitable for this Program of Local Public Employment for beneficiaries of the National System of Youth Guarantee.

For this reason, and in order that these types of professions can offer future prospects to young people and have the opportunity to continue deepening in these branches of knowledge, 12 forestry operators have been hired, as professionals in the agricultural sector (according to The National Classification of Occupations (Cno) 95 Agrarian, forestry and fishing laborers and framed in Cno 9543 Forest pawn).

The work of the Forest Peons in the Municipal Forest Brigade will consist of performing the auxiliary operations necessary for the conservation and improvement of the natural environment following instructions or work plan, applying criteria of quality and efficiency, and respecting the regulations for the prevention of occupational hazards and Environmental impacts.

The Town Council of Molina de Segura, from the Service of the Natural Environment, will watch and control at all times the correct development of the work done and the workers.

The works of conservation of the natural spaces will be carried out properly indicated, complying at all times with the current regulations.

Likewise, the safety of the personnel will be guaranteed by the appropriate techniques of Occupational Risk Prevention in each case.

The natural spaces where they will act and the tasks to be developed in them are defined as follows:

- Trees of municipal interest, singular and monumental.

- Vicente Blanes Ecological Park.

- Sotos River Segura and its banks.

- Wetland of Las Lagunas de Campotéjar-Salar Gordo.

- Conservation of the Molina Wetlands.

- Green Corridor La Fuente.

- Signed nature trails.

- Municipal Nursery.

- Adequacy of roads, streets and public roads in rural and forest areas of the municipality.
