The City Council of Molina de Segura, through the Department of Social Welfare, and within the program of activities in the centers of the elderly for the second quarter of 2017, has organized, today Friday, May 26, a meeting of seniors, aimed at The largest population of the municipality of the various local associations, with the dual objective of promoting socio-cultural and recreational activities to prevent situations of physical and / or cognitive deterioration, as well as creating new spaces and forms for leisure and leisure .

According to the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángel Navarro García, "the environment where we grow, live, socialize and relate is a key element during our life and an environment rich in stimuli and possibilities, which will provide us with a healthy and quality life We have a challenge: to make longevity compatible with personal autonomy and social participation.When we get older we have more time, so it's a good time to learn and enjoy. "

A total of 108 people participate in this activity, which takes place from 10.00 to 14.00 hours, in the hamlet of La Albarda.

For the transfer to this hamlet, two buses have departed, one from the Town Hall and the other has collected the elders for the different districts and urbanizations (La Torrealta, La Ribera, El Llano, El Fenazar and La Alcayna).

The visit consists of two parts: a visit to Las Lagunas de Campotéjar, and another one after the La Albarda Center Rites and Traditions of Campo de Molina.

This center has installed a tent with tables and chairs to hold a picnic.

In this same space, and before the picnic, there will be a workshop of popular games (bowls and caliche), and in the house of the teacher will be given a workshop of traditions.

"This visit aims to offer a day of encounter and coexistence among the elderly, in a playful space that, in addition, connects the elderly with their experiences and traditions," said the Councilor for Social Welfare.
