The partners of the company SERCOMOSA unanimously approved the accounts for the 2016 financial year, during the Shareholders' Meeting held on Thursday, June 1, and presided over by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira.

This is the first time the Board has approved the accounts since fiscal year 2011.

Previously, the Board of Directors of the company was unanimously agreed to approve the agreement between SERCOMOSA and Acciona Agua, which ends the current difficult economic situation that SERCOMOSA is facing.

The approved AGREEMENT basically includes the following:

On the one hand, we get a QUITA of almost 38% of the 15,300,000 euros, derived from a court decision and because of the operator agreement signed in 1998, that Sercomosa owed Acciona.

This represents a saving of almost 6 million euros, leaving the final debt at 9.7 million euros.

That amount will be paid in 20 years to a preferential interest, which, in interest only, represents a saving of more than 1 million euros.

As for the contract that obliged Acciona to pay more than 1,500,000 euros annually for nothing, with this new agreement, it is reduced by more than a third that amount, receiving SERCOMOSA a series of considerations that will allow significant savings for the company, which , Currently outsources services for an approximate amount of 6,000,000 euros.

This agreement is not only an economic agreement, but also establishes a series of important issues for the future of the company.

For example, the City Council will propose the management of the company, which will be chosen from professionals with experience in the public sector, trying to be with the maximum consensus of the Board of Directors.

In addition, from now on, the conflicts that occur between the parties will be resolved in the courts of Murcia and not in the Court of Arbitration of Madrid.

And finally something fundamental: peace is reached with the partner Acciona, who, after years of conflict, will bring peace of mind to the workers, their families and the Town Hall, and, therefore, the Molinians.
