In the two previous days the volunteers and volunteers collaborated in the recovery of ballets in the Ecological Park Vicente Blanes and in the monitoring of migratory birds and ringing in Las Lagunas de Campotejar
The Volunteer Environmental Program Voluntari @ s Naturally !, promoted by the Department of the Environment of the City of Molina de Segura, proposes a new activity of repair, construction and placement of nest boxes for small birds and bats, which will take place on Saturday 24 June, starting at 09.00 (departure at this time from Plaza de España), in Soto de la Hijuela, next to the Segura River.
With these nest boxes, nesting of the birds is facilitated, providing them with safe spaces, while knowing the different species that will use these boxes and which are characteristic of the banks of the river or of the orchard areas.
The activity is aimed at all those over 14 years interested in the conservation of natural spaces.
They can make their inscription through the web page of the Town Hall www.molinadesegura.es.
During the workshop held in April, the volunteers collaborated in the recovery and consolidation of ballets on the traditional cultivation terraces of the Vicente Blanes Ecological Park, traditional constructions that create biological diversity and serve as a refuge for small animals.
In May they followed the migratory birds of Las Lagunas de Campotéjar and, thanks to the collaboration of the Association of Naturalists of the Southeast, they knew how a day of scientific banding takes place.
"We thank the volunteers and volunteers for the work done, the interest and dedication they showed once again and we encourage them to continue collaborating and spreading the value of the space they have helped to conserve," says the Councilor for the Environment, Pellicer Carbonell Capel.
The activities of this program are carried out on the last Saturday of each month and, following the June proposal, it returns after the summer with the following proposals:
- SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 30: IMPROVEMENT OF EQUIPMENT FOR THE PUBLIC USE OF VICENTE BLANES ECOLOGICAL PARK.
Performances in the arboretum, pond and park trails.
