The signing of the agreement between the City Council of Molina de Segura and the Association for the Social Integration of the Disabled (TEDIS) for an occupational center took place today Tuesday, June 27, in the municipality of Molina.
The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, the member of the Board of Directors of TEDIS, María del Carmen López Luna, and the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángel Navarro García, attended the meeting.
City Council of Molina de Segura and TEDIS sign this collaboration agreement, with a municipal subsidy for a total amount of 22,000 euros, as approved, on Tuesday 27 June, the Local Government Board.
TEDIS develops a project of an Occupational Center for the provision of services related to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities, maximizing the development of individual capacities and full social integration of the collective in all its areas.
This association works with the group of people with disabilities over 16 years of age in the municipality of Mollina.
The total number of people attending the center is 8, of which there are 4 men and 4 women, and the age group is 19-30 years.
According to the Councilor for Social Welfare, Angel Navarro, "with the economic support to the entity TEDIS, through the agreement, the collaboration that has been developed and supported successively the City of Molina de Segura to maintain an Occupational Center, due to The need presented by young people with disabilities who, after completing the school stage, have no other work exit. The project presented responds to various needs raised by the group, develops personal autonomy of the student and promotes the pre-employment attitudes of person".
The Occupational Center, located on Calle Canarias, s / n, develops the following activities and workshops:
Computer workshop.
Swimming.
Hability games.
Workshops of New Technologies.
Social skills improvement activities.
Sport Adapted: football, basketball, table tennis, petanque ....
The opening hours are from 09.00 to 13.30 hours, and there is a daily shuttle service.
The entity has two special education teachers, and the rest of services and activities are managed with volunteer staff.
