The City of Molina de Segura adheres to the campaign VenidYa in favor of the reception of refugees (28/06/2017)

The adhesion of Molina de Segura City Council to the VenidYa campaign, promoted by the NGO Coordination for Development (CONGD), where the Government of Spain is requested to comply with its agreement on the reception of refugees, has been presented at a press conference Today Wednesday, June 28.

The presentation was attended by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, First Deputy Mayor, Fernando Miñana Hurtado, Councilor for Cooperation and Solidarity, Pedro Jesus Martinez Baños, Councilor for Social Welfare, Angel Navarro Garcia, and the President of the NGO Coordination for Development - CONGD of the Region of Murcia, Moisés Navarro Sánchez.

The host commitments, signed by Spain with the European Union, are as follows:

"From the City of Molina de Segura we demand that international law, human rights and commitments be respected. In September 2015, the Municipality of Molina de Segura created the Commission for Assistance to Refugees, unanimously approved by all municipal groups at the request of the Moldovan association Foro Abierto.
