The adhesion of the City of Molina de Segura to the Strategy for Health Promotion and Prevention of the National Health System was presented at a press conference, Tuesday, July 4, by the Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Mira, and the Councilor for Public Health, Esther Sánchez Rodríguez.

The Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality, together with the Autonomous Communities, has developed the Health Promotion and Prevention Strategy in the National Health System (in the Framework of the chronicity approach in the NHS), approved in the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System on December 18, 2013. This Strategy is an opportunity to integrate and coordinate health promotion and prevention efforts among all levels , Sectors and actors involved.

It proposes the progressive development of interventions aimed at preventing diseases, injuries and disability, and is characterized by its comprehensive approach and environments, its positive and population-based approach, as well as maintaining a life course perspective (source: https://www .msssi.gob.es / professionals / saludPublica / prevPromocion / Strategy / strategyPromotionandPrevention.htm).

In the Region of Murcia, the following municipalities are adhered: Ceutí, Murcia, Puerto Lumbreras and Ricote.

Only Ceutí and Ricote have moved to the second level, which is Implementation, which involves the development of measures such as:

Comprehensive advice on lifestyles in primary care.

Fragility and falls in the elderly person.

Local implementation of the Strategy.

Training Plan.

Implementation of the Strategy in Universities.

Recommendations for the population on physical activity for health and reduction of sedentary lifestyle.

Interventions in the School.

Positive parenting program.

Initiative to encourage the use of stairs in the workplace.

In order to carry out this process, it is necessary to develop a Community Resource Mapping (http://localizasalud.msssi.es/maparecursos/main/Menu.action?) and strengthen collaboration with primary care.
