The 14th edition of the Setenil Prize for Best Book of Stories Published in Spain, convened by the Council of Culture of the City of Molina de Segura, has beaten all the records of the history of this veteran award, having presented a total of 117 titles by part Of publishers and authors from all over the country.
Up to now, the hundred books had never been reached.
This high participation demonstrates both the strength of the genre of the story and the resonance and importance of this prize in our country.
The Setenil Prize is endowed with 10,000 euros for the author of the winning work.
The jury is presided over this year by Madrilenian writer Pilar Adón, prestigious author of stories named New Talent FNAC for The Cruelest Month and Critical Eye Award for Innocent Travel.
Carmen Valcárcel, professor of Literature at the Autonomous University of Madrid, and Aurora Gil Bohórquez, writer and professor of Secondary Language and Literature, will also be part of the jury.
The jury is scheduled to issue its ruling in November.
The prize will be presented in Molina de Segura in December 2017.
The winners of previous editions of Setenil have been Alberto Mendez, Juan Pedro Aparicio, Cristina Fernández Cubas, Sergi PÃ mies, Oscar Esquivias, Fernando Clemot, Francisco López Serrano, David Roas, Clara Obligado, Ignacio Ferrando, Javier Sáez de Ibarra, Emilio Gavilanes and Diego Sánchez Aguilar.
