The Environmental Education Program Molina, Discover your Environment, developed from the Environmental Education Service of the Department of Environment of the Municipality of Molina de Segura, and addressed to the educational centers of Mine, launches its seventeenth edition, with a new proposal for the 2017/18.
This Program offers to the educational centers an offer of activities that constitute a resource for the incorporation of environmental education in the educational project of the center and in the didactic programs.
The offer of activities linked to the different environmental management programs developed by the City of Molina de Segura will allow contextualizing the issues within the urban, natural and rural environment, showing the environmental reality of the municipality to work the interdependence of this with the environmental reality global.
For this, the Department of Environment has designed a structured offer in two blocks.
The first is Discover your city, dedicated to activities of urban environment, which aims to engage the educational community of the municipality with the environmental improvement of the city and the center through information of local reality and awareness of the need to build among all, urban environments and sustainable centers.
Secondly, the Discover Natural Areas of Molina de Segura block aims to bring the educational community closer to the municipal natural spaces to show its biological diversity and its natural and cultural values, giving the possibility to know and experience nature in vivo, analyzing and investigating the characteristics of the natural spaces of the municipality and the faunistic species and flora present.
In this new edition there is a wide range of urban sustainability issues within the Discover your city block.
On the other hand, in the block Discover the natural areas of Molina de Segura offers activities in the Segura River Sotos, Las Lagunas de Campotéjar or the Ecological Park Vicente Blanes for all educational stages.
As a novelty, the incorporation of an activity dedicated to the knowledge of the important geological heritage of the municipality stands out.
This course, the Council intends to complete the offer by accompanying each activity of a didactic proposal with previous activities, later and other educational resources, to facilitate the incorporation of the activities in the teaching programs.
The deadline for requesting activities ends on October 6, 2017 and will be addressed by request and / or to cover the number of activities planned.
The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, encourages "the educational community of our municipality to participate and I thank the constant involvement of centers and teachers in the environmental improvement of our city, educating citizens responsible and committed to development sustainable".
