II Osteoporosis Conference: May not break your life (11/10/2017)

The Hospital de Molina, through its Research Chair of the UCAM, the Association QualeVitae and the City of Molina de Segura presented this morning in the press room of the Consistory, the program of the II Osteoporosis Conference, organized with the occasion of World Osteoporosis Day (20 October).

In the words of the Managing Director of the Hospital de Molina, "for the second consecutive year, the Hospital de Molina, through our UCAM Research Chair, together with the Catholic University itself and the Molina de Segura City Council, more broadly to raise awareness of the importance of integrating physical exercise, physical therapy and a healthy diet both to prevent and to address osteopenia and osteoporosis in the daily life.The ultimate goal is to help people who have it a better quality of life".

Under the motto that does not break your life, during the days 16, 18 and October 20 in Molina de Segura, the following activities will happen:

October 16 (Las Balsas Social Center): Cycle of lectures, by:

Dr. Andrés Martínez-Almagro Andreo.

Honorary Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, UCAM.

Dr. Pablo Jorge Marcos Pardo.

Specialist in Physical Exercise with seniors.

Director of the Research Group on Health, Physical Activity, Fitness and Motor Behavior (GISAFFCOM), UCAM.

Dr. Pablo Javier Olabe Sánchez.

Dr. International in Physiotherapy, Professor and Doctor in Anatomy and Research Methodology, UCAM.

October 18 (Plaza of Spain):

Workshop of Physical Activity, in charge of the Physical Activity Service of the Hospital de Molina and the Department of Sports and Health of the City of Molina de Segura.

Workshop on Physical Therapy, in charge of the Physiotherapy Service of the Hospital de Molina.

October 20 (Plenary Hall of the City Hall):

Healthy eating workshop, by the Dietetics and Nutrition Unit of the Hospital de Molina.

Parallel to these days, the Hospital de Molina (through its Research Chair), the UCAM and the City of Mollina begin a research study on the relationship between physical exercise and osteoporosis.

Participants (enrolled in the Osteofitnes Program) will receive medical checks and free bone densitometry.

The presentation of this conference was attended by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, the Managing Director of the Hospital de Molina and Director of the Research Hospital of Molina of the UCAM, Pedro Hernández Jiménez, the Honorary Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences of UCAM and President of the QualeVitae Association, Andrés Martínez-Almagro Andreo, and the Councilor for Public Health of the Molinese City Council, Esther Sánchez Rodríguez.
