The Villa de Molina Theater informs all citizens and subscribers that the planned function for Saturday 25 November, Green Eyed Monster, suspended a few days ago for reasons beyond this theater, is replaced by the work TRISTANA, Benito Pérez Galdós.
This show is included in the State Program of Performing Arts Platea, and will be represented at 21.00 hours.
It maintains the price of tickets, 15 euros, and its inclusion in the second cycle of subscriptions, as well as the replaced function.
Tristana, adapted by Eduardo Galán, has as protagonists Olivia Molina (Tristana), Pere Ponce (Don Lope), Diana Palazón (Saturna) and Alejandro Arestegui (Horacio).
The heroine of Benito Pérez Galdós, Tristana, dreams of studying, working and being free in a world dominated by man.
It joins the explosion of female protagonists who at the end of the nineteenth century call for the independence of women.
Galdós merges in the personage of Tristana his amorous experiences with the young actress Conception Ruth Morell and with the novelist Emilia Pardo Bazán.
In front of her, as in an impossible triangle, the deceased seducer Don Lope and the young painter Horacio, unable to respect their desires for learning and emancipation.
And beside her, as an accomplice and confidant, the maid Saturna, the woman attached to reality.
Moments of smiles and moments of pain.
Finally, a function that invites us to reflect on the real situation of women in the world today.
