The Molina Hospital Research Chair at UCAM organizes a course on "Improving sports performance through visual training", aimed at graduates in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences, Opticians, Physiotherapists and students of the last year of these degrees.
According to the coordinator of the Murciano Institute of Visual Therapy (IMTV), Mrs. Esther Mainar Andreu, who will teach this course, "through the vision and its repercussion in the postural structure of the athlete and his response, both reflex and voluntary, it is possible to achieve a better adaptation to its activity, increasing the speed of response and improving the precision in the execution of the sport gesture in most sports disciplines ".
The objectives of the course are, among others, to know the relationship between vision and posture, to learn to identify the visual situation of the athlete, to know strategies of interrelation between visual work and sports training, as well as the field of optometry in sport and when to refer the athlete for optometric work.
This course will be held on 10 and 11 November at UCAM.
