The Molina de Segura Flower and Craft Market 2017, promoted by the Councils of Markets, Trade, Tourism, Handicrafts and Local Festivals of the City of Molina, is held on 29, 30 and 31 October and 1 November, in the entrance to the Park of the Company and sports court of the park.
The activity was presented at a press conference on Wednesday, October 25, by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, Councilor of Markets, Fuensanta Martínez Jiménez, and Councilor of Commerce, Concepción Orenes Hernández.
Coinciding with the celebration of All Saints' Day, the Municipality of Mollina maintains the traditional sale of flowers, which has been carried out since 1992, and extends the offer with more craft and gastronomy stalls, Food Trucks and other activities .
The event also counts on the collaboration of the councils of Sports and Health and Youth, the Academy of Hairdressing and Aesthetics Ciprian, Music Joll and Roxana Dance Center.
On this occasion, the market will have the participation of 11 flower stalls, corresponding to 10 street vendors of the weekly markets of Molina de Segura, authorized for this sale, and a florist of the locality.
All of them have been invited to this activity after a call to every florist in the municipality.
These dates are celebrated in Spain with special characteristics.
A few days before this celebration, relatives of the deceased move to cemeteries to decorate them with all kinds of flowers, among which we can highlight chrysanthemums, roses and dahlias.
For this reason, this Flower and Craft Market is organized, with the aim of making it possible for a point of sale for three days, from 09.00 to 20.00 hours, to facilitate the entire population of this town and other nearby Vega Medium, the purchase of flowers.
As was done last year, the market location will be the entrance to the Park of the Company, with great visibility and usual place of the Weekly Market on Saturdays.
In addition, the City Council has reserved the entire parking area of ​​Calle Jesuita Hernández Pérez, adjacent to the Park of the Company, for the purchase and collection of flowers with parking spaces for a maximum of 30 minutes, which from the consistory is intended to facilitate the purchase to all citizens who approach this market during the days of its celebration.
To the direct elaboration of bouquets of flowers and their sale, a wide offer of products typical of the gastronomy of this date, such as arrope and calabazate, fig bread, saint's bones, chestnuts, etc., as well as artisans of all the Region of Murcia, that will offer articles of leather, silver, macramé, jewelry, textile, incense, natural cosmetics and colonies, etc., and other gastronomic products like sausages, jams, paparajotes, popcorn, churros, honey, etc.
All this is accompanied by an extensive program of children's and musical activities, workshops and Halloween makeup, with special effects and characterizations.
As a novelty this year, and to heat engines, from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 October, FOOD TRUCKS is organized, a true gastronomic fair on wheels in trucks, vans and vintage caravans, installed in the sports court of the Company Park, and enlivened with musical performances and dancing.
And on Tuesday, October 31, a great variety of activities related to the most festive part of All Saints' Day are brought to the Market, traditions that have come from other latitudes and that have gradually been shuffling among us, attracting mainly the youngest, which revolve around the Halloween Party, such as the Halloween Sport Fest, the Hallowwen Parade and the Young Halloween Evening Evening.
Finally, from Sunday 29 to Tuesday 31 October, a Horror Film Cycle is celebrated with the broadcast of a film of this genre every day at Music Joll (in Vega Plaza Shopping Center).
