The signing of the collaboration agreement between the City of Molina de Segura and the association ASPAPROS for the development of a program of activities of social integration with people with intellectual disabilities took place today Friday, October 27, in the municipality of Molina.
The Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Mira, the President of ASPAPROS, Mariano Manzanares Torres, and the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángel Navarro García attended.
The agreement provides for a municipal grant of 30,000 euros, and its objectives are as follows:
Promote the active participation of people with intellectual disabilities in the proposal, organization and development of socio-cultural activities.
To favor the development of autonomy and responsibility in the organization of their free time and leisure and making effective their right to self-determination in aspects that matter to them.
Support in the maintenance expenses of the Day and Residence Center that the entity develops.
ASPAPROS is committed to give priority to people with intellectual disabilities in the municipality of Molina de Segura, to access services offered from the stage of personal care and assistance, to integration in the world of work, through specific training.
This association has in Molina de Segura (Calle La Amistad, n ° 1, in Barrio de San Miguel) a Day Center or Day Care Service, which offers dining service, adapted transportation and health care, as well as offering support necessary for each of the users to define their personal expectations and access their goals through different programs and services adapted to their personal circumstances and environments in which they develop.
It also has two residences, one of them with 30 places, next to the 67 places of the new residence, recently opened.
They offer residential care services during the 365 days of the year, for the integral care of people with intellectual disabilities, who require different degrees of support due to problems of autonomy to carry out activities of daily living and can not remain in their their own homes.
In addition, a family respite service is provided to care for the person with intellectual disability during the days when, for various reasons, the family can not attend to it.
To carry out its work, ASPAPROS undertakes to perform the following actions:
Economic coverage of expenses related to the maintenance of residential care and day care services.
Within the Program of Activities of Social Integration for Persons with Intellectual Disability the following actions are established:
Activities in the community.
Leisure and social life.
The following exits are planned: Balneario de Archena, leisure and commercial centers, and museums, theater and cultural centers.
Cultural outings, to know tourist places at national level.
Sport activities.
Motricity and physical development: riding, swimming, soccer, golf, and participation in the activities programmed from the Spanish Federation of Sports for Persons with Disabilities (FEDDI).
Activities in the natural environment: Workshop of Gardening and Greenhouse.
The association has: 3 educators, 3 workshop teachers and 10 caregivers.
