The Auditorium Virginia Martínez Fernández of MUDEM has hosted today, Wednesday, January 3, the public presentation of the research work "Virtual Archeology of the Historical Heritage of Molina de Segura", carried out by the students of the Bachelor of Research of the IES Francisco de Goya de Molina de Segura, José Vicente Beltrán, Álvaro Moreno Abellán and Javier García Serrano, under the direction of the teacher, José Naranjo Tornero.

The event was attended by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, the Councilor for Education, Fuensanta Martínez Jiménez and the Councilor for Culture, Pedro Jesús Martínez Baños.

The three places of historical and industrial heritage of Molina de Segura to which the research work refers have been the Medieval Wall, the Council Furnace and the disappeared canning factory "La Molinera".

For the realization of this research work the students of the IES Francisco de Goya have made use of augmented and virtual reality techniques.

In the subject of technical drawing the students have created models in three dimensions of the three buildings listed, they have made a work of historical documentation and have edited three informative videos.

The Bachillerato de Investigación, in which the IES Francisco de Goya de Molina de Segura is a pioneer at the local and regional level, was launched in the Molinense center in the 2007-2008 academic year and is designed to meet the demand of students with interests of higher academic formation.

The IES Francisco de Goya and his students have received 21 awards distributed among students, teachers and the center over the last 10 years.

Five of these awards have been with the highest national distinction.

The Mayor, Esther Clavero, congratulated the three students who have prepared the work for the splendid result achieved, as well as the faculty, board of directors of the center and all the people involved in the research process.

Clavero is committed to continue maintaining the close line of collaboration between the City Council and the IES Francisco de Goya and has encouraged the students who have done the research work to continue "fighting and researching to be able to have the country that we all want" .

The event concluded at the entrance to the MUDEM where a plaque has been discovered in which reference is made to the project and in which the virtual access codes to virtual reality applications and the documentary videos produced appear.
