The Program of Free Guided Visits of the Department of Tourism of Molina de Segura increases in 2017 by 15% the number of visitors compared to the previous year (10/01/2018)

The Department of Tourism of the City of Molina de Segura, for the fifth consecutive year and in collaboration with the Tourism Institute of the Region of Murcia and the Regional Network of Tourist Offices, organized during the year 2017 a total of 12 guided tours and free, which were made from February 4 until December 30.

In these visits, 763 people participated, who came from different municipalities in the Region, from Alicante and Madrid, and from foreign countries.

This supposed an increase of 15% of visitors with respect to the 664 of the year 2016.

In this edition of the Free Guided Visits Program, the possibility of making the online reservation has continued, so that those interested have been able to consult and book their visit through the web www.murciaturistica.es.

In this way, it has been possible for these visits to be made by people coming from Murcia, Cartagena, Alguazas, Archena, Abarán, Alcantarilla, Las Torres de Cotillas, San Javier, Santomera, Alicante and Madrid, among other locations.

In addition to foreign visitors, who came from Poland, United Kingdom, Uruguay and Bolivia.

For the second year, the visit to MUDEM has been incorporated into the Program, which has increased its reserves through it by 257% compared to 2016.

As for the proposed routes, in 2017 three new guided tours were added: Renace la Huerta, a tour of the Huerta de Molina and the Carlos Soriano Ethnographic Museum;

Visit of the Pilgrim, an urban tour for the pilgrims who made the Camino de Levante;

and the Ruta de los Belenes, a tour of the Lux Mundi exhibition, in its three venues.

The Councilor for Tourism, Andrés Martínez Cervantes, said that "the Molina de Segura City Council has opted to boost the tourism structure of the municipality and the implementation of this Free Guided Tour Program contributes to the promotion of tourism at the local level as well as to the development of companies, shops and establishments related to tourism. "

The mayor invites to participate in the next edition of this Program in 2018 "to all people who wish to discover the variety of tourist attractions that the municipality has."

In addition, he thanked "the selfless collaboration in this Program of many people and groups of the town", among which are: the Association of Residents Huerta de Molina, the Municipal Orchestra Hims Mola, the Cabildo Superior de Cofradías de Molina de Segura , the Brotherhood of the Holy Christ of Sorrows, the Brotherhood of the Holy Burial, the Villa de Molina Theater, the Group of Choirs and Dances of Molina of the Francisco Salzillo Regional Association, and the Parish of the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption.
