The VI Villal Molina Young Interpreters Contest 2018 opens the registration period, with the incorporation of the guitar and singing modalities and the extension of the prize money (29/01/2018)

The organizers of the contest are set up in the Federation and incorporate as a new member the Molina de Segura Chamber Orchestra, which joins the Molinense City Council, the Virginia Batuta Association, the Jaime López Professional Music Conservatory, the Molina Pro Music Association de Segura, the Hims Mola Municipal Polyphonic Choir and the Molina de Segura Music Band Association

The VI Villa de Molina 2017 Young Interpreters Contest, organized by the Culture Department of the Molina de Segura City Council, the Virginia Batuta Association, the Jaime López Professional Music Conservatory, the Molina de Segura Pro Music Association, the Polyphonic Choir Municipal Hims Mola, the Music Band Association of Molina de Segura and the Chamber Orchestra of the town, has been presented at a press conference on Monday, January 29 by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, the Councilor for Culture , Pedro Jesús Martínez Bańos, the Artistic Director of the contest, Virginia Martínez Fernández, and the Coordinator of the Organizing Committee of the contest, José Fernández Lozano.

The registration period has been open until next February 12.

The contest is organized to reward the most talented young musician of the Region and the best instrumentalists in the modalities of piano, string, wind-wood, wind-metal, percussion, guitar and singing.

The last two modalities are incorporated into the contest for the first time this year.

The rules of the contest are on the website www.concursovillademolina.es.

Another novelty of this edition is that the organizers are set up in the Federation and incorporate the Chamber Orchestra of Molina as a new member.

As a last novelty, the winners of the respective prizes of the different modalities and levels of education, will have the possibility of participating in concerts promoted by the Organizing Federation of the VI Young Interpreters Competition Villa de Molina 2018, within the framework of Holy Week Cecilia (November 2018).

The concerts, depending on the modality, will be performed with the Hims Mola Chamber Orchestra, the Municipal Music Band, the Virginia Batuta Association and the Hims Mola Municipal Polyphonic Choir.

The contest is biennial and has been convened since 2008 to help bring out the talent of students, stimulate young fans and bring music to society.

In the first edition of the contest there were 25 participants and the last one was 115. The organization's estimates for this year are around 150 participants.

The first and second edition of the contest had two modalities, piano and string.

In the third and fourth wind was incorporated wood and metal wind.

In the fifth percussion was added.

And this year they join the call guitar and singing.

The contest has the collaboration of more than 60 companies and entities of the Region of Murcia.

The tests of the previous and final phases will take place between the months of March and May of 2018 in the Auditorium Virginia Martínez Fernández (in the MUDEM), while the final gala and awards ceremony will be held at the Villa de Molina Theater on the 25th May, 2018, at 9:00 p.m.

The artistic direction is in charge of Virginia Martínez Fernández, conductor of molinense orchestra, holder of the Youth Orchestras and Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia.

The contest includes 22 prizes, of which 20 distinctions correspond to the categories by levels of study with respect to elementary, professional and higher education, plus the special Virginia Martínez Fernández prize for the participant born in Molina de Segura who stands out for his desire to artistic improvement, and the novel special mention of the jury to the interpretation of guitar in the category of Professional Education.

This call is the only proposal in the Region with classification for students of the three teachings taught in conservatories and music schools.
