The Carlos Soriano Ethnographic Museum of El Llano de Molina organizes a carnival workshop on Sunday, February 11 (08/02/2018)

The Molina de Segura City Council has launched the Activities Program of Visítanos Museums 2018, which offers the possibility of knowing the Interpretation Center La Albarda Rites and Traditions of Campo de Molina, the Carlos Soriano Ethnographic Museum of El Llano de Molina and the Horno del Concejo Museum and Casa del Folclore.

The Department of Tourism and Culture proposes for Sunday, February 11, from 11.30 am to 1.30 pm, the visit and workshop of the carnival in the Carlos Soriano Ethnographic Museum of the hamlet of El Llano de Molina, activity aimed at a family audience, in which will be made masks that will help you design your own costume.

To participate in this activity it is necessary to confirm the assistance by calling the telephone number 968 21 90 99 (Aldaba Congresos, company that develops the program), or the Tourism Department, at the telephone numbers 968 388 523 and 968 388 522 .

The Carlos Soriano Ethnographic Museum is located in the old manor house that this lawyer had in his agricultural colony of Llano de Molina de Segura and was inaugurated on May 17, 2003. The proposed activities will be developed from Monday to Thursday for groups arranged (educational centers, associations, cultural centers, etc., of the municipality and the Region), and on the second Sunday of the month, for the general population, from 11.30 am to 1.30 pm.

The City of Molina de Segura, in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works, rehabilitated the building and launched this center.

The complex is constituted by the manor house, the annexed chapel that was part of the colony, an area of ​​agricultural crops, to show the characteristic products of the area, a hydraulic wheel on the ditch in operation and declared of Cultural Interest and since 2011, a temporary exhibition hall.

The manor house has two floors.

On the ground floor, we find the entrance where there is a tinajero, under the staircase, and some archaeological pieces of the surveys made in the municipality since 1992. Passing the kitchen we found different utensils that were part of this room and some collections of ceramic and glass.

Passing through the patio of the house we come to the temporary exhibition hall where proposals of different plastic artists of the town are developed.

The Upper Floor includes a first room where we contemplate different regional costumes.

The next room is made up of different models where you can find garden work and some artifacts like ferris wheels, mills ... The last room recreates a bedroom at the end of the 19th century.
