The Jugger is a team sport that was born in Germany at the beginning of the 90s. It arrived in Spain nine years ago and in the Region of Murcia six years ago.

The Jugger quickly spread through different cities of the Spanish geography such as Madrid, Valencia or Zaragoza, and soon jumped to the rest of the national scene.

Currently there is a circuit of tournaments at Spanish level.

With a population of players that exceeds 300, Murcia has become a true focus of this sport with a great hobby in constant growth.

Proof of this is that in 2013, 2015 and 2016 he sent a team to the Deutsche Meisterschaft, the main German tournament of this sport, achieving the first position of 64 participating teams in 2013 and 2015, with the Murcia Region currently the highest Jugger region. of Europe.

The Jugger is played with a ball called Jugg, used to convert points, and a variety of sticks known as Pompfen.

All Pomfen are covered by soft materials to cushion the impacts.

The playing field has an irregular octagon shape and measures 20 x 40 meters.

The goal of the game is to convert points by introducing Jugg into the base of the opposing team.

Each base is situated at one end of the field.

The Pomfen are used to block the players of the opposing team, preventing the opponent from scoring points and taking care that the opponent is not blocked by the opponents.

Regarding the development in the Region of Murcia, the Jugger has always gone hand in hand with the Murcian Association of Jugger (AMUJ), which since February 2011 has been organizing numerous events in order to raise awareness of this sport among young people.

Account for it for 5 years with the support of the City of Molina de Segura, which helps you spread the sport with the cession of the El Romeral Municipal Sports Center.
