The act of signing a collaboration agreement between the University of Murcia and the Molina de Segura City Council for the creation of a Permanent University Extension Headquarters in the municipality took place today, Wednesday, February 21, at the headquarters of the Rector of the UMU .
The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, the Grand Rector of the University of Murcia, José Orihuela Calatayud, and the Councilor for Culture, Pedro Jesús Martínez Baños, attended.
The purpose of the agreement is the establishment of the Permanent University Extension Headquarters, through which joint activities aimed at ongoing training, the promotion of culture and sports, as well as, in general, the achievement of common objectives, will be developed. of both institutions.
Its validity is two years, extendable for equal periods of time and express agreement of both parties, which must be formalized prior to the expiration of the agreed period.
In particular, some of the objectives of the Headquarters are the following:
The promotion of culture and the awareness of citizens in their practice and enjoyment.
The realization of cultural and formative activities.
The development of knowledge of the surrounding culture and society through the promotion of sociological, anthropological or artistic studies.
The promotion of training activities and / or analysis of the local reality and its topics of interest.
Advice and cultural collaboration in the different areas of community life, with public and / or private entities of Molina de Segura and municipalities of the Region of Murcia.
The promotion of activities that contribute to education throughout the life of people.
The promotion of the availability and access to the bibliographic and documentary collections of both institutions, according to their regulations.
The establishment of a close administrative coordination between both institutions, which facilitates access to the university world of the entire population.
Collaboration in the organization of events with general and social interest and purpose.
The collaboration for the promotion of the sports practice of the citizens of the municipality and, especially, between these and the members of the university community.
To achieve its objectives, the University Extension Headquarters of Molina de Segura may develop, among others, the following actions:
Organization of training activities.
Realization of activities to promote culture and art, such as competitions, prizes and contests.
Organization of informative or artistic exhibitions.
Organization of cultural events such as conferences, congresses or symposia related to the interests of the municipality of Molina de Segura.
Proposals for studies and analysis of social and cultural reality.
Organization of activities that contribute to permanent education and of the elderly.
Organization of activities that contribute to bring the University of Murcia to students of all educational levels of the municipality.
The City Council of Molina de Segura is committed to:
To enable and maintain an adequate physical space for the location of the Headquarters, in the Enclave Museum of the Wall (MUDEM), located on Ibn Arabí Street, s / n, in Molina de Segura, which will be destined for common use during the time that the Agreement remains in force.
To make available to the Headquarters the technical means and necessary resources, as well as its wealth and social and cultural potential, in order to achieve the ideal development for it.
Provide the technical, material and human resources necessary for the proper functioning of the Headquarters.
Finance activities carried out within the Permanent Headquarters, based on budgetary availability and in accordance with the planning accepted by the Headquarters Coordinating Council.
The University of Murcia is committed to maintaining a close orientation and collaboration with Headquarters, counting on its technical, cultural and scientific means, which will be determined in each case.
The Headquarters will promote the interrelation with other entities, in order to enhance the dynamism and cultural projection of the inhabitants of the municipality of Molina de Segura.
The Permanent Headquarters will be financed by the financial contribution of the City Council itself, as well as by obtaining the means required for the development of activities through public prices, contributions or grants from other entities.
The City of Molina de Segura is committed to consign for 2018 the amount of 3,000 euros, and fully allocate the same to the activities that take place within the Permanent Headquarters.
A Coordinating Council will be created, which will meet at least once a year, and as many times as necessary, and will be composed of the following members: the Rector of the University of Murcia, who will preside, or delegate;
the Mayor-President of the Molina de Segura City Council, or person to whom she delegates;
the Director of the Permanent Headquarters;
the Secretary of the Permanent Headquarters;
two representatives of the University of Murcia;
and two representatives of the Molina de Segura City Council.
The Director may propose the appointment of a Coordinator of the activities of the Headquarters, when the dynamics of operation so require.
