The Molina de Segura City Council and the TEDIS association sign an agreement for the maintenance of their occupational center (16/04/2018)

The act of signing the agreement between the Molina de Segura City Council and the Association for the Social Integration of the Disabled (TEDIS) for an occupational center took place today, Monday, April 16, in the municipality of Molinense.

The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, the President of TEDIS, Ana García Beltrán, and the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángel Navarro García, attended.

Molina de Segura City Council and TEDIS sign this collaboration agreement, with a municipal subsidy for a total amount of 22,000 euros.

TEDIS develops a project of an Occupational Center for the provision of services related to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities, maximizing the development of individual capacities and the full social integration of the collective in all its areas.

This association works with the group of people with disabilities older than 16 years of the Molinense municipality.

The total number of people attending the center is 8, of which there are 6 men and 2 women, and the age range is from 19 to 30 years.

For years, TEDIS has been developing actions to respond to the needs derived from people with disabilities, favoring full family, work and social integration of the group, promoting the maximum development of basic skills.

The association's commitment to take into account the Social and Labor Insertion Exchange of the Molina de Segura Town Council, aimed at favoring the integration into the labor market of people in situation of unemployment in the municipality, is introduced as a novelty.

According to the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángel Navarro, "with the financial support of the TEDIS entity, through the agreement the collaboration that has been developed and supported by the Molina de Segura City Council for maintenance of an Occupational Center, due to the need posed by young people with disabilities with few job opportunities, responds, therefore, to the need to respond to people with disabilities who need support for the development of daily tasks and who, being young, require training integral and the occupation of their free time With the presented project responds to diverse needs raised by the collective, the personal autonomy of the student is developed and the pre-working attitudes of the person are promoted, all with the sight put in its full social integration".

The Occupational Center is located in Calle Canarias, s / n, in the pavilion of the old Colegio de Fátima, whose public authorization for occupation by the entity was approved by the Local Government Board on March 6, 2018 for a validity of 4 years.

It develops the following activities and workshops:

Computer workshop.

Swimming.

Hability games.

New Technologies workshops.

Activities to improve social skills.

Adapted sport: football, basketball, table tennis, petanque ...

The opening hours are from 09.00 to 13.30, and it has a daily shuttle service.

The entity has two teachers of Special Education, for the development of the workshops, and the rest of services and activities are managed by volunteer staff.
