The Prize VII Setenil sets record for participation with 82 books submitted (08/07/2010)

Setenil Award for Best Book of short stories published in Spain, organized by the Culture Department of the City of Molina de Segura, a few years has become one of the country's most important awards in the genre of the story.

This is evidenced by the enthusiastic participation of publishers and authors from all over the country, having been sprayed in this seventh edition of any previous record, with a total of 82 titles submitted.

The winner of the previous edition, Fernando Clement said that getting the Setenil was considered among the Spanish short story writers "like winning the Oscar" of this genre.

The prize, whose development is followed by several blogs, is endowed with 12,000 euros for the winning author.

This year the jury chaired by the narrator Andrew Neuman, winner of the Premio Alfaguara de Novela past and editor of several anthologies of short stories.

He will also be part of the critic Ramón Jiménez Madrid and María Dueñas teacher and writer, author of the bestselling novel "The time between seams."

The jury is expected to issue its ruling in November.

The award will be presented in Molina de Segura in December 2010.

Winners of previous editions have been Setenil Alberto Mendez, Juan Pedro Aparicio, Cristina Fernandez Cubas, Sergi Pamies, Fernando Óscar Esquivias and Clement.

The judges were chaired respectively by Juan Manuel de Prada, Luis Mateo Díez, Luis Alberto de Cuenca, Ana Maria Matute, José María Merino and Javier Tomeo.
