The opening ceremony of the Sheltered Housing Association of Family and Mentally Ill of Molina de Segura (AFESMO) in La Ribera de Molina was held Wednesday September 8, Road Raceway in La Ribera de Molina (in the former old school.)

This property was formerly an old school uniform, which has been restored into a home supervised by the city of Molina de Segura, thanks to a grant of € 200,000 granted by the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Migration.
AFESMO has an assignment of the use of municipal facilities such as sheltered housing for 75 years.
The new facilities of the Bank have 7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, patio garden and 200 meters.
They can accommodate 13 people and allow the partnership to improve and optimize the service.
Previously, users were living on two floors AFESMO operated under lease, so this move has improved living conditions, since they have more space and open air, allowing a better living and quality of life .
Users of this housing are people with chronic mental illness (schizophrenia and other psychoses), aged between 18 and 64, and mixed (since 23 August, there are 10 men and 3 women).
The staff is hired to care: 5 assistants / carers and 1 social educator in a coordinating role.
Provides the following services:
housing, accommodation and meals, laundry, transportation, assistance and medical and psychiatric care, program of daily living skills, health education and hygiene, and programming of leisure.
Center AFESMO Day (Monday to Friday): counseling, sports activities, programs of rehabilitation and social integration, employment workshops, and labor and social inclusion.
AFESMO manages, since 2007, 27 sheltered housing places for people with chronic mental illness, the first association to do so in the Region of Murcia.
This service allows users to be served all hours of the day but without the stigma of a residential institutionalization, that is, trying to maintain and improve all the individual skills to lead a more normal life as socially integrated as possible.
The management contract with the Instituto Murciano Social Action (IMAS) for the Reserve and occupation of 27 seats in sheltered housing in the town of Molina de Segura for the care of people with chronic mental illness has a prize of 685.705.61 euros is for a period from 01/05 / 2010 to 20/04 / 2012.
