The Department of Environment of the City of Molina de Segura launches the fourteenth edition of the Environmental Education Program MOLINA, DISCOVER YOUR ENVIRONMENT for the 2010/2011 academic year, coordinated by the Municipal Environmental Education (SEA).
The initiative was presented at a press conference by the Councillor for the Environment, Consuelo Rosauro Meseguer.
On this occasion, the program adds to the commemoration of 2010 as International Year of Biodiversity, focusing its educational proposal to the objective of the commemoration, as is to contribute to the conservation of biological diversity Molina de Segura.
In order to make known to the educational community molinense environmental reality that lives, engage in any activity within the block Discover Molina, aimed at primary school, which develops ten currently recognized environmental themes: water, waste, noise, energy consumption responsible and ecological planning and landscape, pollution and climate change, nature, streams and wetlands and geological heritage.
In addition, this edition highlights especially the block Discover the Natural de Molina, rededicated to the Lagunas de Campotéjar, and within which the project will develop actions LIFE + Nature & Conservation Biodiverdity White-headed duck.
Proposed activities for Secondary School Education seeking to raise awareness among students on environmental values and the need for wetland conservation Campotéjar Lagoons and its importance in the conservation of white-headed duck.
Explains the Councillor for the Environment, "in a year marked by a difficult economic situation, we must adapt to these circumstances by adjusting the offer, but a commitment to continue the program Molina, Discover your environment as an educational tool to achieve a more viable and committed to our environment. "
The City of Molina de Segura account in this new edition with the collaboration of the LIFE + financial instrument of the European Union dedicated to the environment, as well as entities such as ECOEMBES, the Ministry of Agriculture and Water in the Region of Murcia and Sercom company.
The program will be taught by educators and business professionals ECOESPUĂ‘A, directed and coordinated from the Environmental Education Service.
It targets a total of 30 schools and the stages of Primary Education, Secondary School with a student population of about 5,500 students.
We expect the participation of all recipients centers.
The Councillor for the Environment encourages "all schools to continue to participate in the program and working with projects and educational initiatives that show the commitment and responsibility to the environment of the educational community of Molina de Segura"
