Unión Progreso y Democracia (UPyD) Molina de Segura has alleged that the construction works of the Day Centre for older people dependent on the urbanization of La Molineta have stalled for several months, the City Council has given an explanation to residents concerned about the real reason for the delay of the work.
This new center, which was already included in the Municipal Employment Plan 2009/2010 with a budget of just over 752 000 euros and has been funded by more than 50 percent (400 thousand euros) in funding for Plan E, should provide 140 places of care, and provided for the creation of 28 jobs.
To UPyD, there are serious doubts about the real motivations that led the council to give the order to stop work before the start of the summer, thereby delaying the opening of the Centre.
According UPyD candidate for mayor of Molina, Encarna Hernández, the City must explain if the reason is the lack of economic resources, "something that would again show the disastrous mismanagement and economic planning conducted by the municipal executive ".
"If it is not," said Hernandez, "the only reason must be kept on the need to face dramatic effects of the electoral campaign."
For Hernandez, "it is regrettable that, once again, the City may be thinking more about electoral interests than the needs of citizens molinense, and what is worse, with people dependents."
Therefore urges the Consistory UPyD to accelerate the works to finally put into operation a project that is of vital importance to the implementation of Law Unit in the municipality, and to create jobs in a municipality, such as Molina, as punishment for the strike.
