The Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, accompanied by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras, today inaugurated the work undertaken to expand the city's Transportation Town, "a facility that will become an enclave strategic training of transportation professionals in the Region of Murcia, which will promote a regional logistics network with the highest quality, "he said.

The Minister stressed that the regional government, through the continuous improvement of the infrastructure network in the regional territory in the service of transportation professionals committed to the modernization and innovation in the sector, which accounts for four percent of GDP region.

The new facility, which has received an investment of 800,000 euros regional administration, have a Training Center certified drivers with three micro-teaching classrooms, a classroom / workshop, a room for planning and coordination of activities and rooms for use as administrative and teaching.

Such expansion of 16,000 square meters, has also been converted into a practice area with virtual simulator for drivers and a platform for car parking for 150 trucks.

This whole complex has been equipped with the necessary road signs and the appropriate lighting.

Thus, the City of Transportation, which already had the first gas station in the service sector and dispensing 18 million liters of fuel per year, contributing to greater training of professionals, which will affect the development of distribution activities by road safely and responsibly.

Initiatives to support sector

The regional government has promoted several initiatives this year to support the transport sector, which have received regional funding of over one million euros.
