The special program of activities organized by the Department of Culture and Celebration of the City of Molina de Segura on the occasion of the upcoming Christmas 2010/2011, which has a prominent role XIV Festival Villancicos Coral Molina, has been presented today, Thursday December 2 .
The presentation was attended by the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, Councillor for Culture and Celebrations, Mariola Martinez Robles, and the Director of the Kodály Coral (Coral Festival organizer), José Bermejo Martinez.
The Coral XIV Festival Villancicos de Molina, organized by the City molinense and coordinated by the Kodály Choir, takes place on Saturday 11 December at 20.00 pm in the Teatro Villa de Molina (in Chorrico Avenue, No. 10).
The entrance fee is 4 euros.
The festival will feature the Kodály Coral Molina de Segura.
The session will have two parts: first there will be a Christmas monographic works of English composer Benjamin Britten.
Initially, the Chamber Choir of the Kodály Choir, which will involve the collaboration of the young director Seville Ana Belén Ortega, offered two works by Britten said.
Later, as special contribution to the session, the girls in the Kodály Choir, accompanied by the choir Voces Blancas Xolo and some students of the Academy Z.
Kodály, make up a chorus of female voices to provide a wonderful Christmas play, very popular in Anglo-Saxon countries, entitled "A Ceremony of Carols, for choir of female voices and harp or child, with Alfredo Otero harpist to accompany girls .
"It will be a special assembly with images and lighting that put the listener in the descriptive sounds of the work," explains the Director of the choir, José Bermejo.
In the second part, the Kodály Choir, directed by Marcelo Beltran, will perform a series of carols Molina.
This part is bound to become an informative and participatory, so as to give listeners information about the carols played and organized activities in which the public is active part of the session.
The Choral Festival Villancicos de Molina emerges as a logical result of the important choral activities with which the municipality.
With its announcement, the Department of Culture intends to continue promoting the development of a cultural practice which involves a great number of citizens of Molina de Segura.
For two years, the competition has become a non-competitive festival, trying to find new ways to ensure increased quality and number of sessions offered.
As human support and technical advice / musical of this festival, the Culture Department has the support of one of the oldest choirs in the city, Kodály Choir, which on this occasion, for reasons of fiscal adjustment will be the only participant group.
