The City of Molina de Segura has a budget for 2011 amounting to 62,685,986 euros (6'85% decrease compared to 2010).
The proposed municipal budget was discussed and approved in a special Full Council on Monday 10 January, and has been presented at a press conference today, Thursday 13 January by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras Linares, and Councilmember Economy and Finance, Victoria Gomez Alcazar.
As explained by the Mayor, "Budget 2011 continues the trend set in 2010 and has been developed from an dour outlook, given the national economic situation and crisis which has affected all government, and particularly to the municipalities . Thus, we have developed a balanced budget that maintains the consistency of local politics, whose top priority is to make responsible management. The expected income will be less compared to previous years, which requires a reduction in costs to the extent permits the service, bearing in mind that our goal is to meet priority needs. "

The budget ensures compliance with the financial obligations of the Corporation in terms of personnel, debt service, contracts and multiyear commitments.
Eduardo Contreras explains, "social policies are a priority in municipal management and the best social policy is job creation. Therefore, the City continues a year addressing benefit costs through the creation of employment, entire population, such as local public employment programs, school workshop, and the implementation of the actions of the strategic plan of investment in human capital. As for investment, include the implementation of the Plan of hamlets, 90% financed by the Autonomous Community of Murcia and 10% by the city of Molina de Segura, which provides a total of 1,564 751.11 euros.
In addition, 581,404 euros were allocated to the construction of a sports deck and other improvement works in the Public School Tierno Galván, under the investment agreement signed in schools by the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment of the Region Murcia and the City molinense.
In compliance with the budgetary stability law for the year 2011, the city of Molina de Segura did not provide any new loan agreement, so that decreases in net municipal debt.
