Molina de Segura participate in the XXXI FITUR International Tourism Fair 2011, held in Madrid from 19 to 23 January, with the introduction of the Enclave Wall Museum (MUDEM).
The ceremony took place on Wednesday 19 January, at the stand of the Region of Murcia, and has been assisted by the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, Councillor of Tourism, Sonia Carrillo Marble, and the Councillor of Culture , Mariola Martinez Robles.
The Enclave of the Wall is an urban area over 3000 m2 destined to become the cultural epicenter of the city in the XXI century.
The proposal articulated in a large square of major cultural facilities such as the Conservatory of Music in Molina de Segura (in operation), the Historical Archive, an exhibition hall, an auditorium with 200 seats and the new Museum of Wall Enclave (MUDEM) come into operation during this year.
The MUDEM is the core element of the complex and is designed in such a way that will surround the area of the medieval walls of Molina de Segura, a 125 meter structure found in 2005 that still retains six of its towers and a double elbow door great archaeological interest.
Tours of the MUDEM allow visitors to make a dynamic and educational itinerary by medieval happenings of this population.
The new display of the content and use of new technologies and interactive elements make possible to find a new perspective on the past.
Associated with the museum, archaeological laboratory area will be preserved where the archaeological remains that have appeared in the town.
The Enclave of the Wall, ultimately, will significantly increase the cultural offerings of the city, improve its urban aspect, it will attract new visitors, create jobs and encourage respect for cultural heritage.
The Mayor of Molina de Segura, during his speech at the TV set designed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to present tourism in the Region of Murcia, has also highlighted another pillar of the leisure offer of the municipality, such as programming of the Teatro Villa de Molina and organization of the International Theatre Festival Molina de Segura, which this year celebrates 42 years.
