The IES Francisco de Goya de Molina de Segura is awarded the Special Jury Mention Injuve event (11/10/2011)

44 prizes were awarded between 1,000 and 6,000 euros and 9 stays at research centers

Three of the winning projects will represent Spain in the European Competition 2012

The director general of the Youth Institute of Spain (Injuve) under the Ministry of Health, Social Affairs and Equal, Gabriel Alconchel, handed the prizes to the Injuve given to the best papers presented by participants in the contest for Young Researchers 2011, which has met for one week in the CEULAJ to 200 boys and girls between 15 and 20 years, which submitted and defended their work.

The head of Injuve stressed that in this year, the event has received Young Investigator 261 jobs, the highest number of the last ten years.

Alconchel Gabriel has congratulated all participants to present their ideas and projects in the competition, and teachers for their willingness to guide students to participate and emphasized that "this event is the result of a team effort."

Injuve director general explained that "now more than ever, we need to raise research vocation among young people. In this 2011 edition, Catalonia is the region with the highest number of entries from all over Spain, although a notable increase occurred in the Region of Murcia since last year as a result of the implementation of the research work in high school, a fact that also occurs in Catalonia.

As for the areas of knowledge, Earth Sciences and Life are still the most studied, followed by Social Sciences and Law, with a significant increase in this edition of the works on Technology and Engineering.

For the award of prizes among the 40 shortlisted works have been taken into account the previous assessment as oral and graphic presentations of the work performed during this Congress.

The award "Special Jury Award", worth 6,000 euros was for "History of a bubble: an analysis of the factors that have led to the creation of the housing bubble in Spain (1998-2008)" presented by Maria Martinez Hita IES Francisco de Goya de Molina de Segura (Murcia) and coordinated by Juan Carlos Parra Romero.

In the Competition for Young Researchers are also selected to the Spanish representatives and / as attending the XXIV edition of the European Union Contest for Young Scientists to be held in Bratislava in September 2012, namely: "Video in 3D binaural sound" (special award from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), "What treatment of employees in the food industry to inhibit melonogénesis is the most effective and safe for the consumer?" (one of the first prize) and "History of a bubble: an analysis of the factors that have led to the creation of the housing bubble in Spain (1998-2008) "(Special Jury Mention Award).

Another special award has given the Polytechnic University of Madrid for 5,000 euros, the best work of Engineering and Technology, which has fallen into "3D Video with binaural sound," presented by Carlos Saura García IES Severo Ochoa de Alcobendas (Madrid ) and coordinated by M ª Carmen San José Garcés.

This Contest is organized by the Ministry of Health, Social Policy and Equality and Education, and has outstanding collaboration of the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and Universidad de Málaga.
