Molina de Segura starts a feeding protocol for babies 6 to 12 months (29/11/2011)

Molina de Segura has a feeding protocol for babies 6 to 12 months, as well as a common menu for infants of this age in all primary schools with public squares, as announced by the Councillor of the City Health molinense, Lola Vicente Quiles.

"One of the most insistent claims on health, on the part of the 9 primary schools with public squares of the town, was to unification and to design a menu suitable for babies from 6 to 12 months who attend these schools daily, given the great diversity in this age where there are different pediatric recommendations and the requirements of many parents about how to feed their children, "said the councilor.

The Community Health Commission Molina de Segura decided to intervene and, after meeting with all heads of primary schools, began the work that has just ended and consisted of two phases:

It has established a protocol agreed between the pediatric services of the two municipal health centers on the introduction of complementary foods from 6 months to 12 months.

From now on these recommendations will be provided from pediatric consultations.

This work has been coordinated by pediatricians Josefina House and Francisco J. Palop

Monsó Pérez / Chirinos (members of the Community Health Commission Molina de Segura).

On behalf of the Department of Health of the City of Molina de Segura has designed a common menu for all school children, which reflects the guidelines set by pediatricians.

The menu varies according to 4 age groups: 6 / 7 months, 8 / 9 months, 10 months and 11/12 months.

In this menu includes lunch and snacks.

These menus are common to all children of this age exceptions determined by their pediatricians.

The municipal nutritionist last week visited the nine primary schools to explain the implementation of the menus, which began on Monday 28 November.

The Councillor of Health has highlighted "the work done by all health professionals who have been involved municipality and members of the Community Health Commission, to address this demand which is a big improvement in power from the molinenses birth, and then is continued with all steps being carried out since the program 2005dentro Childhood Obesity Prevention and Youth Molina de Segura ".
