The City of Molina de Segura and the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health of the Region of Murcia promote GROWS IN SAFETY campaign aimed at schoolchildren in the municipality (08/02/2012)

The presentation of the campaign GROWS IN SAFETY, for schoolchildren, and promoted by the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment in the Region of Murcia, through the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, in collaboration with the town of Molina de Segura, took place on Wednesday 8 February, in the Plenary Hall of the City Council.

Attended by the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, Director, Institute of Occupational Safety and Health of the Region of Murcia, Tomas Perez Fuentes, the Councillor for Education, Mariola Martinez Robles, and the company SICO Technical Engineering and Safety (responsible for the development of the campaign), Juan Carlos Conesa Simon.

This campaign targets the 868 students from 5 th grade of primary education in 26 schools in the municipality and is intended to inform the students of the risks they have in their surroundings: at school, at home and in the journeys from home to school.

Through it, be advised that in their daily activities are subject to possible accidents due to falls, burns, workload, contact with toxic chemicals, electrical hazards, bumps and shocks, cuts, wounds and abrasions , fires and explosions, asphyxia and respiratory obstructions, etc..

This year has changed the face of the campaign, and its protagonists are the Gil Lopez family and his pet cat Prevenis.

Your choice is that an essential aspect of training and learning of children is related to their own families.

Additionally, other issues of the campaign, children, when they receive the first talk on prevention of risks, discussed with his parents and they, in turn, reflect on the risks that children have in their daily activities.

This aspect can be considered as one of the reasons why there is currently work injury rate lowest in our history.

The information sessions are 45 minutes long and will be taught by staff of the company SICO Safety Engineering and technical personnel and supervised by the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.

As educational material, fun and easy to use, adapted to the students, are used: participatory comic in which the student, in addition to observing funny situations, you can spot the dangers that surround him in his daily work, and CDs, in the learned that playing where the risks.

This year, the campaign has a website, www.creceenseguridad.com, in which all supporters of the campaign can meet both the contents and news about the campaign, with presence on Facebook, Twitter, RSS and YouTube from where it is kept informed all who love the campaign and manifest in social networks.

It also offers attractive prizes for participating in drawing competitions, to be held both locally and regionally, such as bicycles, portable consoles, cameras, mp4 and books, and demonstrate they have learned about the risks to which they are subjected.
