The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras Linares, accompanied by the Councillor for Economy and Employment, Victoria Gomez Alcazar, and the Councillor for Public Roads, Vicente Fernandez Oliva, made a visit to the development work outside the lot where house the new Europe Square on Thursday October 31.
The work consists of the construction of sidewalks around the perimeter and a wall of protection against storm floods on Calle San Juan, and the installation of street lighting and underground containers of waste.
To date the first phase and the enclosure have been completed and are already started work on the second phase of action.
To do this, the municipal officers have drawn up a blueprint to sort the lot.
The new square will meet criteria playful, sporty and ecological, with the formation of distinct living areas, located on three different levels: the upper zone, next to Calle Triunfo, will be equipped with a sports court and play area, the gap will be planted with a large stage, and the bottom, next to Asuncion Street, will be a paved open space.
The Council resolved almost a year the contract specifications for the construction of a car park in the Plaza de Europa.
The concessionaire should return to its initial state land where it was to locate the car park, by filling the excavated site and the urbanization of the perimeter of the site, with the construction of sidewalks and the installation of street lighting.
During his visit to the works, the Mayor, Councillor for Public Roads and the Councillor for contracting with municipal technicians have explained, on the ground, the residents of the neighborhoods adjacent to the plaza, the development of the works, the improvements that have been incorporated with their suggestions, the execution time of this last phase, which could be finalized for the month of January.
Recall that for the proposed development of the Plaza de Europa, the Mayor and the municipal government held several meetings with neighbors in the plenary hall and field, where he explained that the company wanted to project and contributions were collected neighbors to the project, as outlined in the key Open Government and citizen participation.
The total investment to be held in the Plaza de Europa will be around 800,000 euros.
The first phase of implementation, which began in January 2013, amounted to 235,000 euros, paid in full by the concessionaire, to which must be added the recently fenced enclosure and executed for an amount of 116,000 euros.
And finally this last phase (development of the square), just started with a budget of € 380,000 award to which must be added the 60,000 euros for the burial container.
