The City of Molina de Segura, through the Department of Sport and the Environment and Urban Hikers Club Molinense and organize a hiking route along the River Segura, aimed at younger members of the family, which will take place on Sunday November 10, at 09.00 hours, departing from the Town Hall Square.
It is an attractive activity that aims to teach children and youth in hiking, both from the point of view of health and sport, and from the point of view of enjoyment, knowledge and respect for nature.
This first hiking route, in which children must be accompanied by an adult, will be held on the Rio Segura, in one of its sections regenerated, with a small forest of shore, the Soto La Hijuela.
There will be some stops of interest to inform participants of the various natural and heritage elements to be found in the course of 4.5 kilometers.
Halfway through it, arriving at Soto La Hijuela, will be a planting riparian vegetation, with species typical of the river, such as the tamarisk, poplar, ash trees, oleanders, among others.
With this plantation, the Department of the Environment and Urban wants to raise awareness of the necessary collaboration of citizens in the conservation of natural areas of Molina de Segura, through participation.
A total of 150 children and youth in the municipality participate in the route, which is not difficult.
