The presentation and premiere of Health Program 5-10.

Ready for the Future will take place on Friday, October 3, at 13:00 pm in the Plenary Hall of the City of Molina de Segura.

Attending the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, the Director General of Youth and Sports in the Region of Murcia, Antonio Peñalver Asensio, General Director of Educational Quality, Innovation and Attention to Diversity in the Region of Murcia, Maria Begoña Iniesta Moreno, the Managing Director of the Hospital de Molina, Pedro Hernández Jiménez, Health Coordinators 5-10, Juan Madrid Conesa doctors and Juan de Dios Bern, and the director of the documentary, Dr. Pilar Sainz de Baranda.

This documentary reflects the experience that during the 2013-2014 school year was held in the town of Molina de Segura with 5-10 Health Program promoted by the Hospital Universitario Virgen de la Arrixaca, Molina's Hospital, the City Molina de Segura, Murcia University (through the Faculty of Sport Sciences), the Foundation for Health Education and Research in the Region of Murcia (FFIS) and the collaboration of the Ministry of Education and Murcia schools in the municipality.

The program is aimed at children aged 5 to 10 years who are obese or overweight, which were offered for free to participate in an activity of intense physical exercise for 3 hours a week, designed and taught by the Faculty of Sport Sciences University of Murcia.

150 children have participated and they have been subjected to a comprehensive health study with ultrasound, blood tests and different physical fitness tests.

Within this study included some new parameters such as thickness of the intima-media layers of the carotid arteries and hepatic elasticity, trying to determine the possible presence of early changes that warn of health problems.

The initial goal of the program is to know the health status of children 5 to 10 years with obesity and overweight, these children speak on a beneficial exercise program and then evaluate these benefits.

The ultimate goal is to move this program to the entire child population of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia with different actions that are likely to improve your health.
