The City of Molina de Segura has joined Mayors Adapt Pact Initiative Mayors Adaptation to Climate Change, launched by DG Climate Action of the European Commission in March 2014 The motion passed unanimously in the last regular plenary session on 29 September.
The official signing of the agreement took place on Thursday 16 October in Brussels, and it is represented the city of Molina de Segura, who becomes number 53 across Europe to approve its accession.
Adapt Mayors The Covenant of Mayors Initiative on Adaptation to Climate Change (http://www.pactoalcaldesregmurcia.es/noticias/alcaldes-by-the-adaptaci%C3%B3n) was launched under the Covenant of Mayors, the European initiative which is the flagship in the adoption by the cities of measures in mitigating climate change and the molinense City Council joined in February 2011 Adapt Mayors The Covenant of Mayors Adaptation Initiative to Climate Change provides a framework for local authorities to take action in this adaptation process.
In addition to approving the accession to this initiative, the Municipal Corporation is committed to developing a comprehensive strategy of local adaptation to the town of Molina de Segura.
