Javier Saez de Ibarra, with his work Boulevard, wins the eleventh edition of Setenil Award for Best Story Book Published in Spain 2014 convened by the City of Molina de Segura (30/10/2014)

The Jury Prize XI Setenil Best Story Book Published in Spain 2014, meeting on 29 October, has agreed to grant the award to Javier Sáez de Ibarra for his book Boulevard, published by Foam Pages (Madrid).

The jury of Hipólito G. Navarro, Lola Lopez Mondejar, Belmonte Serrano and José Manuel Moyano, chose this book from the 68 submitted by publishers and authors in Spain.

The Setenil Award, organized by the Culture Department of the City of Molina de Segura, has an endowment of $ 10,000 for the winner, and includes a reprint edition of one or more stories in the book.

The award-winning writer, Javier Sáez de Ibarra (Vitoria, 1961), lives in Madrid and works as a professor of language and literature at a high school.

He published the poems Reasons (2006) and storybook reader Spinoza (2004), Proposal impossible (2008) and Water Watch.

Plastic Tales (2009), all published in Foam Pages.

With this last book won the First International Short Story Award Ribera del Duero.

Regarding the award-winning book, Boulevard, Javier Saez de Ibarra says he has fled so melodramatic and gruesome than the alarmist: "I have looked very simple facts, but with enough dramatic force."

This book, which its author has described as "broken", contains seventeen pieces ranging from stories of inspiration carveriana winks to conceptual art.

The ceremony of the XI Setenil Prix will take place on December 11, 2014, in the Plenary Hall of the City of Molina de Segura, with assistance from the award-winning author of the jurors and different authorities.

The winners of the Setenil Prize, considered one of the most important awards story in the national literary scene, this is: Alberto Mendez for The Blind Sunflowers Juan Pedro Aparicio for Life in White, Cristina Fernández Cubas, for poor Relatives devil, Sergi Pàmies by If you eat a lemon without grimacing, Oscar Esquivias by Brand Crete, Fernando Clemot for Tobacco Chiado, Francisco López Serrano, by habits of chance, David Roas, for Distortions, Clara Bound for travel book wrong, and Ignacio Ferrando for Skin of strangers.
