Garre highlights the commitment of the irrigators by the photovoltaics sector "to make it profitable and efficient facilities" (12/11/2014)

Irrigators launch an installation of pumping water from a lower reservoir to a higher one, which supplies electric power to come from the new plant, at a much lower cost than if done from the distribution network

Garre Alberto recalls that "improve the supply and use of water for irrigation is progress for farmers and for the whole region"

President of the Community, Alberto Garre, today stressed the commitment of the irrigators in the region by the photovoltaics sector "to make more efficient and profitable facilities of water supply for irrigation aimed at their plantations."

The president of the Community today inaugurated the new solar PV installations in the Community Irrigation Campotejar in the hamlet of El Fenazar, in the town of Molina de Segura.

The Community Irrigation Campotejar has launched a pumping plant to lift water from a lower reservoir to a higher one reservoir, whose electricity requirements come from the new solar power plant.

So Garre explained, "This project meets the changing needs of the community members to provide water for irrigation, and much more cheaply than if performed from the utility distribution network."

Garre said that "everything that involves improving the supply and availability of irrigation water use is any progress for our farmers and for our entire region."

The Community Irrigation Campotejar, 1,050 villagers, operates several wells to supply irrigation of farms, which have water lift pumps.

In total, this system would water about 4,000 hectares.

The new solar power plant is divided into two facilities.

First, the electrical energy that powers the pumps come from the new plant, called 'Photovoltaic Power', working in isolation from the electrical grid.

There is also a second separate installation of the previous hundred times less potent, called 'Photovoltaic Storage', to meet the needs of electrical power control equipment, alarm and lighting booth, among others, which operates 24 hours a day.

The company's Soltec Renewable Energies', located in Molina de Segura, has been responsible for implementing the technical solution through renewable energy to supply the power needs of a totally isolated form of the distribution network.
