The Oven Museum Council and House of Folklore Molina de Segura organizes a candle workshop on Sunday November 16 (14/11/2014)

The workshop on children's literature and bookmarks, organized by the Department of Tourism and Culture of the City of Molina de Segura in the oven Museum Council and House of Folklore (Cid Street in Barrio del Castillo), will take place on Sunday 19th of October, from 11.30 to 13.30.

Today, visitors come to the Museum Council Oven will learn the characteristics of single oven until the eighteenth century in the city, and enjoy the use of waxes and colors to create various types of candles.

The activity is aimed at children and youth.

Furnace Museum & House Council of Folklore

It is a unique example of architecture of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, located in the Castle District is born after the recovery and rehabilitation of the oldest city oven: Horno del Castillo.

The building remains almost entirely original structure, made with the ancient technique of rammed earth and which highlights the great dome of its impressive Moorish oven.

The museum displays, interactive media, and a contemporary museology, the most significant aspects of a baker and a sample of the most significant aspects of local folklore.

Rooms that comprise are:

• Living Bread: where you talk about the architecture, history and stories of this oven and its people.

• Audiovisual Room: is projected on the walls and the dome of the oven extraordinary visual surround, the tireless work of the baker, night after night kneads bread.

• Living Folklore: Round, street musicians, dance traditions and sounds come together in this room for visitors to know and enjoy the rich folklore of Molina de Segura.

• Living the Well: the vault, meeting place of the traditional houses of the garden.
