PP councilors of Molina de Segura, with Mayor Eduardo Contreras at the head, rejected Monday in plenary a motion of the PSOE to the City Council set up a battery of measures to support the musicians and musical groups of the municipality.
The other groups, IU-Green, UPyD and Citizens did vote in favor of the socialist proposal.
The PSOE candidate for Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero, called for the Corporation to consult and update the needs that musicians Molina de Segura and, following the conclusions, platform support, advice and mediation is constituted with other cultural organizations in the region to facilitate the dissemination of his music, in and out of local and regional borders.
The main objective is to promote Molina de Segura and that the municipality promotes his musicians.
In the motion, Clavero also proposed to create a municipal records concerning groups and musicians linked to Molina de Segura, including all musical genres.
He decided to incorporate molinenses culturares musicians in events held in the city, especially in the context of their patron saint, and schedule a timely event which serves to extol the talents of artists molinenses.
The socialist candidate also advocated use local media such as local radio station, to serve as a link with local artists as well as for the promotion of concerts and events that are planned.
And he asked to integrate the local station programming as an official means of these concerts, as has been done with events from other municipal areas.
In addition, Clavero raised studying the possibility of creating an event or music festival with regional outreach that brings together the various musical genres, giving priority to local groups, to be held in the municipal auditorium at an appropriate time to carry out air free, and making profitable underutilized installation in recent years.
Finally, the motion was requested to incorporate a section on the B Side Festival to accommodate groups of the region, through a contest or something similar, as is being done in other festivals in the region.
The PP refused to support the motion, arguing that the PSOE requested in the motion and so is the City Council and the mayor boasted that his team is doing a very good cultural policy.
The socialist Clavero said: "This council is not up to the talent of its performers in any genre, and while other municipalities do their best to promote our artists do not have the same institutional collaboration."
