The City of Molina de Segura is engaged in the development of its Strategic Plan with the skyline since 2020. This plan is based on the model that the European Union has defined as Strategy for Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development (EDUSI).
This strategy will be necessary for the municipality to access EU funds available to local governments.
The Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, Councillor and information and communications technology (ICT), Reme López Paredes, presented at a press conference today, Friday October 9, a new website on the EDUSI for citizen input on the future of Molina de Segura.
For the wording of the EDUSI, the Council has maintained molinense workshops with social agents of the municipality (residents, associations, entrepreneurs, etc.), defining a set of guidelines in the city, each with different actions.
The council wants to make an inquiry to all its citizens with the aim of identifying, of the proposed actions, which are the most important for them and it may propose further action.

The main objective of the EDUSI is to improve the quality of life in the city of Molina de Segura in an integrated manner, ie, including aspects ranging from social cohesion and the fight against poverty, to the promotion of low economy carbon, environmental sustainability and optimizing the use of resources.
All under the model already defined smart city Smart Molina.
It defined seven lines of action within the EDUSI, which are: social cohesion and equality;
urban regeneration and the environment;
low carbon economy;
employment, entrepreneurship and trade;
infrastructure;
cultural heritage and tourism;
and citizen participation and open government.
The citizens must choose at least 3 shares of each line of action, and also may propose further action.
