The University of Murcia has signed a collaboration agreement with Afad-Molina, an association that provides assistance to families of Alzheimer's patients and all types of dementia in the town of Molina de Segura.
Under the agreement, students of the University concerned may participate as volunteers in workshops and activities to support families, accompanying the sick and awareness of the disease.
The agreement is promoted by the Department of the Vice President for Student Volunteer, Quality and Equality, headquartered in the University Community Centre, held the signing ceremony.
The Social Centre has also welcomed the signing another voluntary agreement with the Association for Persons with Autism Spectrum Disorder (Asteamur).
Student volunteers will participate in games and entertainment aimed at children with ASDs activities and other solidarity actions of the association.
The Vice Chancellor of Students, Quality and Equality, Miguel Angel Perez, said that such partnerships reflect the "strong commitment of the University of Murcia to the needs and problems of society."
