The Spyglass and The Loquibandia companies (Madrid) presented the regional premiere of the play Saturday GATAS April 26, at 21.30 pm in the Teatro Villa de Molina (in Chorrico Avenue, # 10).
The ticket price is 12 euros.
Gatas is an adaptation of Argentina Porteñas, as staged in this country became a huge success and garnered great reviews.
The actors are first-line actresses Spanish theatrical scene: Silvia Abascal, Rosario Pardo, Nieve de Medina, Ana Gracia, Paloma Gomez and Paloma Montero.
The adaptation and direction are handled by Manuel Gonzalez Gil and actor and writer Miguel Ángel Solá, under the guidance of the historian Ángel León.
The play takes place over the last century of Spanish history, with the help of six female characters for which no time passes, and meet regularly at the home of one of them.
Different century historical events serve, and flash mode, the backdrop against which outlines the evolution of characters that were matched by her femininity, are distinguished precisely by the different way to understand this and over a period socially as dynamic as they live.
Cayetana the aristocratic house opens its doors to the early twentieth century a group of women who, despite belonging to different social classes, manage to maintain a close bond that will only get stronger year after year.
These cats go through the twentieth century and its moments stop at political, social and economic relevant.
The excuse to talk about them remains the meeting of this group of women with different ideological profiles, allowing viewed from opposing views on the same facts, structuring the piece episodes.
Each of them has a particular fact.
The century will be shaping the lives of these "immortals" who magically manage to overcome the passage of time without the reach old age, thus allowing to have (with their infinite lives) the events that marked the launch of the women in a century that was dependent, dominated and undervalued, and fired in flight to its consolidation and freedom. Their relationship also plays the fighting and tearing of a society of which they are representatives. Their conflicts are a reflection of the times we played them live. do not hide their antagonism, but through intelligence and feeling, trying to overcome the wounds of a secular division.
At its meetings, in colloquial and comic way, go through some of the most tragic moments of our last century.
They are a magical place where you can speak and confront all that preserves the group of the battles that take place outside, thanks to its ability to maintain the dialogue and emotions.
Female cats is a reconstruction of the Century, which allows you to discover and relive some of the facts that women staged by deploying a multitude of roles and practices that would never have imagined in past centuries.
