The City Council convenes Molina de Segura YOUNG MOLA Contest 2008, with six ways to spread the artistic work of young artists (16/04/2008)

YOUNG MOLA The Contest 2008, organized by the Youth Council of the City of Molina de Segura, has been presented at a press conference today, Wednesday April 16, by Youth Councillor, Sonia Carrillo Marble.

YOUNG MOLA 2008 includes the modalities of Music, Photography, Literature, Arts, Comics and Shorts.

The event, which aims to raise the artistic work of young artists, has become a stable program of the Youth Council and is intended as a reference sample of the work that young people develop in different artistic fields.

Young people can participate collectively or individually, aged between 14 and 30 years (to December 31, 2008), except in Literature (which is between 18 and 30 years), born or who can prove their residence in the Region of Murcia .

Music Competition in youth can participate collectively or individually, aged between 14 and 30 years, born and registered in Molina de Segura, or study in a center official or working in the municipality.

The budget for this year amounts to 50,000 euros.

The deadline for applications is:

Literature, Photography, Arts, Comics and Shorts: October 13, 2008.

Music: May 15, 2008.

Entries can be submitted to the Department of Youth, on Main Street, No. 81 (Building The Catch, 1 st floor), from 8.00 to 14.00, and 16.00 to 21.00.

The jury will be composed of persons of recognized professional in each of the modalities.

The main novelty of this year's own Web page with the domain www.molajoven.es Contest, where you can download applications, see the rules, see documents relating to the Contest, view links and answer questions through e- contact.

Another point to note is the increased competition awards an average of 400 euros for first prize and 200 euros for local prizes and consolation prize.

The Youth Council will hold an exhibition of Photography, Comic Art and the winning works and selected non-winning, winning shorts screened and selected the Shorts Competition.

The stories have a minimum length of 5 pages and 10 pages maximum, while in poetry the limit will be in more than 150 verses, divided into one or more poems, always maintain a formal and thematic coherence.

The Photography Competition, in turn, establishes a first prize of $ 1,000, second prize of 600 euros, a local award, worth 600 euros, and a prize for the best collection of 1,000 euros.

The subject matter and technique are free, and each participant may submit up to three works.

The minimum size is 20 x 25 cm.

and up to 40 x 50 cm.

For its part, the Contest of Visual Arts, where you can submit works of painting and sculpture, is equipped with a first prize of 1,500 euros, two second prizes of 600 euros, and a local prize of 800 euros for each category.

The theme and the art works will be free, original and not in any other competition winners.

Each contestant may submit up to two works by mode, no default formatting.

The Comic Contest sets a first prize of 1,000 euros, a second prize of 600 euros, and a local prize of 600 euros.

The cartoons, original and free theme and technique, have a maximum of three pages, being able to submit up to two works by author.

The format will be a maximum of 40 x 50 cm.

Finally, the Shorts Competition provides a single modality, may be the work of short fiction story or documentary.

Papers submitted should not exceed 20 minutes in length and in DVD format.

Each participant may submit up to two works by author or group of authors.

The prizes are € 1,800 for first prize, second prize 600 euros and 600 euros for the local award.
