The Institute for Youth in the Region of Murcia, in collaboration with the city of Molina de Segura, organizes 16 to 30 July, a Country Environmental Working in the Ecological Park Vicente Blanes, with the participation of 24 youth.
This first issue has been raised on a national basis, so that participants come from different points of the Spanish geography.
The project has been presented at a press conference Wednesday June 4 Youth Councillor, Sonia Carrillo Marble, Councillor of Environment, Consuelo Rosauro Meseguer, and the Director of the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia, Veronica Lopez García.
The camp aims to promote awareness of this natural area and its environment, create awareness for conservation and ensure the involvement of young people, through their participation in actions to improve and restore soil, vegetation, equipment and other landscape elements.
Young held various environmental restoration work in the park and its facilities, with the work of planting forest trees, cleaning of pathways, reconstruction of ancient masonry terraces, maintenance and improvement of recreational areas The Trough, among others.
During the time spent by young people in this town will be staying at the Lodge Hall, located right in the Ecological Park, which has the facilities and ideal location for this activity.
Explains the Youth Councillor, Sonia Carrillo, "the participants in this field of work will be coordinated by a team of professionals in the environmental field, consisting of two monitors and a director.
This team is funded by the Youth Institute.
Likewise, the operator will support maintenance of the Department of Environment in the specific tasks of work in the Park, with all the necessary coordination of experts from the Department of Youth and Environment, as the contribution of human resources of the City Molina de Segura. "
Councillor for the Environment, Consuelo Rosauro, "the city of Molina de Segura has among its priorities the conservation and enhancement of Natural Heritage, and it takes the view that participation and collaboration of citizens, especially young people in this task.
There are several environmental management programs we are doing in this regard in local natural areas, such as the Ecological Park Vicente Blanes, the Soto of the tiller or the Segura River Wetland Campotéjar Lagoons. "
This is a field where, following the trajectory of the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia, will work on a voluntary and disinterested, in a project in benefit of the town, offering participants the opportunity to discover natural places, to know Molina de Segura, their lifestyles and customs, contact with peers and to participate and contribute to the realization of a project that promotes the values of solidarity, tolerance, participation and fellowship.
In addition to the specific cultural order of the field, this activity is pursued for educational directly interrelated.
For this reason there will be two types of activities: on the specific work itself and, secondly, various activities will be offered by the team of instructors.
Activities to undertake
- Activities of information, communication and documentation of the Ecological Park Vicente Blanes.
Day of presentation of the program with information on the work done and the area where they will work.
Projection of slide shows on the park's natural values and delivery of the Park Guide and the Guide to Flora, and other local materials.
Making walks in the park and outside it to visit the area where they will work.
Conducting interviews with the inhabitants of the rural hamlet The Landing.
- Activities of conservation and environmental restoration.
Arboretum remodeling, cleaning and grooming of the trails that cross it and mark the planting of new plants, stone terraces arrangement, placement of road signs and installation of drip irrigation.
