The Minister of the Presidency, Juan Antonio De Heras, and the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras, today signed a partnership agreement whereby the city will have a new local police station.

This new infrastructure will service the residential areas where the population has grown, as are the Alcayna, Altorreal, Rabbits, Los Olivos and Chorrico, as well as field area Molina.

Under the agreement signed today, the Ministry of the Presidency, through the Directorate General of Local Government and Institutional Relations, will finance 70 percent of the project, which is € 700,000 million euros in the preliminary budget for the work.

The remaining 30 percent, ie 300,000 euros, the City Council provides Molina de Segura.

This headquarters will be located in the commercial area close to the villages, whose population now exceeds 10,000.

Will serve 24 hours for the entire population of the area and will house between 20 and 30 Local Police.

Under the Regional Plan of Public Safety, 30 members of the Brigades have joined the local police patrols of the municipality.

Also, the Presidential Town Hall gave the three vehicles that currently patrol the streets.

Over 8 million euros in construction of barracks

The Ministry of the Presidency, through the Directorate General of Local Government and Institutional Relations, was designed in less than a year, more than 8 million euros for the construction of new local police barracks in eight municipalities of the Region: Alhama, Abarán , Totana, Murcia, Cartagena, Lorca, Molina de Segura and Puerto Lumbreras.

Thus, the autonomous region, although the powers attached to the Government security of the nation, is actively involved in one of the requirements of most concern to the inhabitants of the region, public safety.

The regional government has made every effort budget, putting on the table more than 300 million euros for the development of Citizen Security Plan of the Region of Murcia, sponsored by the President of the Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel.

For this Plan, the Executive Murcia was at the time with other administrations, such as the 45 municipalities and, by far, are already patrolling the streets of Murcia 628 new agents.
