Medical Research Foundation of Molina de Segura (FEM) presented at a press conference today, Friday 23 January, the next conference of scientific (number 35), to be held in Molina de Segura (College auditorium Child Education Paseo Rosales) on Thursday January 29, 2009, at 20.00, with free entry, under the title Can we live longer?, by Professor José Antonio Lozano Teruel, Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Faculty of Medicine, University of Murcia and member of Institute for Research and Aging.
The conference is organized by the WEF, the city of Molina de Segura, Molina Hospital and Research Institute of Aging, sponsored by the Caixa.
The presentation was made by Francisco Guirado Sánchez, Director of the CEO and Director of the Hospital de Molina, and Josefina García Lozano, Secretary of the EMF.
Born in Moratalla (1939), Professor José Antonio Lozano Teruel, from 1971 to the present is Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Murcia.
Initiator in Murcia, in the 60's, along with his teacher, Professor Sabato, director of teaching and research in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, among his disciples are a dozen professors and a dozen professors of that discipline who, various research centers in different subjects testable international levels.
Professor Lozano is Principal Investigator of Melanocytes research group that studies the biochemistry and molecular biology of normal and pathological pigmentation.
It is individual or collaborative author of several books university teachers and about 150 research papers published in international journals.
He has received national and international awards related thereto university.
Between university management positions has been Associate Dean and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Vice Chancellor and Rector of the University of Murcia.
During this last phase (1980/1984) at the University of Murcia had extensive growth and development began Espinardo campus.
Social activities include holding or playing the member of the Board of Trustees Cajamurcia, Vice President of the Euro-Mediterranean Hidrotecnia the Council of Europe, an academic of the Royal Academy of Medicine, Murcia, Academic of the Academy of Sciences Universidad de Murcia, jury Jaime I Awards, Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Truth, etc.
In 2002 he was awarded the parcel number of the Order of Civil Merit, and in 2007, the Confederation of Spanish Scientific Societies awarded him the National Award for Popularization of Science.
Number 31 of the magazine "femciudadano"
Coinciding with the conference on New anticoagulants and hemodonation, EMF publishes and distributes the number 31 on the magazine femciudadano, with a circulation of 5,000 copies.
The contents of this magazine, a dozen pages, are related to the conference, with articles by various scientists and specialists on the subject of the conference.
