Markeliñe CICADA AND ANT presented at the Teatro Villa de Molina on Sunday January 25 (23/01/2009)

The company Markeliñe (Basque Country) presents the children's show CICADA AND ANT, on Sunday 25 January at 12.00 pm in the Teatro Villa de Molina (in Chorrico Avenue, # 10).

The entrance fee is 6 euros.

This is a show based on the fable by La Fontaine filled with poetry, humor, experimentation with materials, rhythm and interpretative game.

The archetype of the archetype of work and leisure are facing as role models.

A reflection on the north and south, about art and work in a show that aims to entertain, surprise and excite both boys and adults.

The cicada, a new inhabitant seemingly idle, interrupts the work of ants.

The cicada is different from them, their way, distracts them from their occupation, and is idle, however, the ants are learning the things they are intruding very pleasant: perhaps the cicada is not as unproductive, but his work is to create rhythm, making music, in leading the listener to the beautiful and pleasant.

The story told by Cicada and Ant is the same as Aesop wrote in a previous version and the same as La Fontaine or Samaniego told in the fable: The ants work tirelessly since the beginning of spring.

After a hard winter, they leave their nest ready to replenish their depleted reserves.

Their routine motion sequences are interrupted by the arrival of a new inhabitant: the cicada.

In their relationship the characters learn something about and another neighbor.

Something about the need to work to survive but also the importance of pleasure to feel better.

But this coexistence of different archetypes becomes more difficult when food is scarce and cold pressed.

When solidarity should emerge spontaneously.

For returning to the classic moral 'should be saved for when there' is not the same store to grab to keep sharing.

The arrival of winter is the inevitable fate of this fable.

The timing of the lesson is complete with shade sharper.

Markeliñe creates performances with a very personal style.

One way to define them before the spectators, large and small, as a group that offers original creations, imaginative and surprising.

Based on a visual and physical theater, Markeliñe has created and produced, since 1986, numerous shows for room, children's theater works and proposals for the street, which have provided a strong presence in the theater scene.
