The Medical Research Foundation Molina de Segura presents a popular science lecture on Problems of Current Psychiatry, by Dr. Julio Vallejo Ruiloba, to be held on Tuesday 24 February (18/02/2009)

Medical Research Foundation of Molina de Segura (FEM) presented at a press conference today, Wednesday 18 February, the next conference of scientific (number 36), to be held in Molina de Segura (College auditorium Child Education Paseo Rosales) on Tuesday February 24, 2009, at 20.00, with free entry, under the title Problems of Current Psychiatry, by Dr. Julio Vallejo Ruiloba, Professor of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine Central University of Barcelona, Chief of Psychiatry, Hospital de Bellvitge Princes of Spain and President of the National Association of obsessive / compulsive.

The conference is organized by the WEF, the city of Molina de Segura, and the Hospital de Molina, sponsored by the Caixa.

The presentation was made by Josefina García Lozano, Secretary of the EMF, and Sunday Menchón, Coordinator of the Emergency Department of Hospital de Molina.

Ruiloba Julio Vallejo was born in Barcelona in 1945.

He graduated in Medicine from the University of Barcelona in 1969, he specialized in psychiatry in 1971 and holds a PhD from the same university since 1978.

He was appointed Professor of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, University of Barcelona in 1980 and Professor of Psychiatry at the same faculty in 1996.

During his career he has been Chief Resident of Psychiatry at the Ciudad Sanitaria Vall d'Hebron in Barcelona (1972/1977) and the Ciudad Sanitaria de Bellvitge of Barcelona (1977/1980), Clinical Chief of Psychiatry Service at the Hospital of Barcelona (1980/1989) and, since 1989, is Chief of Psychiatry, Ciudad Universitaria de Bellvitge of Barcelona .

He is Chairman of the National Association ATOC (Association Obsessive / Compulsive) since 2001.

He has been President of the Spanish Society of Psychiatry (2004/2008), of the Spanish Society of Biological Psychiatry (1999/2003) and the Catalan Society of Psychiatry (1981/1982).

He is a member of the National Specialty of Psychiatry and Director of the Institute for Advanced Studies of the Foundation for Psychiatry and Mental Health.

Since 1993, the organizer, along with Dr. Sanchez / Planell, International Symposium on Updates and Controversies in Psychiatry, which is held annually in Barcelona .

Although he has practiced general psychiatry, his main scientific work has focused on depression and obsessive / compulsive .

Has focused his research and has carried out most work in this area.

He has published 312 scientific articles in national magazines (233) and international (79) on psychiatric issues, has written 42 books as author and as a secondary author 108 chapters in many others, all of which also related to psychiatry.

Is director of the journals: Biological Psychiatry, Psychiatry and Primary Care, Psychiatry and Medical Hall
