The Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport, through the Housing and Land Institute (IVS) in the Region of Murcia, will invest 200,000 euros in the repair of 118 houses the regional government owns in Molina de Segura.
The director of the IVS, Joan Brown, and the local mayor, Eduardo Contreras, today visited the property and checked the condition of houses, located on Avenida García Lorca and the streets Alicante, Maestro Naville, John XXIII, and the neighborhoods of San Jose and San Antonio.
This action, including within the Repair Plan, will finance the improvement works and refurbishment of over 900 homes in the IVS that are impaired and require an improvement in their living conditions.
Therefore, Brown said that "the purpose of this plan is to help specific groups of social and family units who need the support of government to enforce their right to decent housing."
The director of IVS chaired today, along with members of City Council Social Services, the monitoring committee to approve the protocol for the procurement of works and will evaluate the development and implementation of them.
During the ceremony, welcomed the cooperation of the City and underscored "the importance of cooperation between regional and local administration to stop the progressive deterioration of the houses."
Castaño added that "the rehabilitation of buildings that create jobs will help boost the economy," and recalled that this action is part of the Special Program of Rehabilitation of Public Housing Park under the Revitalization Plan.
Through Plan Repair, IVS will invest in 2009 a total of 1.8 million euros in the repair of housing advocacy groups public for hire, the regional government has in the municipalities of Abarán, Caravaca de la Cruz , Cartagena, Cehegín, Cieza, La Union, Molina de Segura and Puerto Lumbreras.
